Kappala Tattoos & Vans put on a mind-blowing show called "Just for Kicks" this winter at the Graffiti Gallery in WInnipeg. It featured tons of artists from across North America showing their work on shoes. My personal fav was this wolfie pair below.

What I like about 'em: They're animal free, thats important. They carried me through the andes and into the amazon basin. they kept me on board skitching mototaxis in iquitos, peru. they kept my feet cool in the assaulting heat of the coastal desert, and warm sleeping in a hammock on the coast. They pedaled me up through the coastal wet forests and onto the beautifull sands of canoa beach. They carried me frontside over the line at parque la carolina in quito more times than i can count. They've soaked up splashed beer and spilt blood. They've been lived in, and they'll be missed. www.wreckcreation.blogspot.com

Why I love them? They are ugly as fuck! But they are old school, I found them in a bargain bin, all dusty and unwanted. They are so comfy, they have that extra foam crap on the soles which gives me and extra 1/2 inch off the ground which keeps my feet farther away from the freezing pavement. They look hype with skinny jeans and tennis shorts! |

Why I love them? They are comfy as heck, look badass, are super supportive in the ankles for skating with good board feel. I rock them in Winnipeg in the winter, any other skate shoe yields frozen toes, but these Nikes keep my feet warm and and have really good grip for those icy days. I am thankful for them cause when my car died on the hwy during rush hour they gave me the support, grip and warmth need to push it all by myself! |
